I'm loving designing these long infographics lately! Here's another that we launched last night here.

The Election Night Guide
I guess I should have posted this prior to election night but it was a bit crazy here. I designed this for my job to promote on Tuesday. It got lots of social media comments so I thought I should add it here. See it larger and enjoy the designy details here.

I loved creating this invitation with lots of custom illustrations and inspiration from things organized neatly and this Workspace Tumblr Theme.

TRUTH-O-METER
I've been spending my days designing a lot more infographics lately and have loved every second of it. One of my favorites is this TRUTH-O-METER that I designed for a Facebook post.

World Wide Pioneer Day Posters
I had the great privilege of designing some posters for a free festival thrown by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I created a 11x17 version for the poster and then edited down the text for the 8.5 x 11 version so they could use it as flyer.

Logos
Lately I've been working on the corporate branding and logo for a new waterproofing technology. The rendered versions turned out better than my original sketches so hopefully the client will like one of these options!

Design Essentials
Our department gave us a design challenge where we were supposed to draw inspiration from Ashwin Pate's "Bare Essentials for the Graphic Designer" and create a poster of our own design essentials. I was listening to the amazing Jessi Arrington on Creative Mornings when I made my own design essentials dashboard poster. Her idea for creating "creative settings" thoroughly inspired me. The talk served as a good reminder that a positive outlook determines the outcome more than the situation at hand. And now, my controls and settings for getting things done and enjoying every moment of life:

Project Wedding
One great (albeit sometimes painfully time-consuming) thing about being a designer—I get to design my own wedding invitation and mood board. Bliss.

Summer Illustrations
My normal work mainly consists of graphs/charts and text layout, but I got the chance to design the email banners for our company's 4th of July party. I miss doing these little illustrations!

Save Japan
I haven't updated in a while so I figured I could post these t-shirt designs I did for our companies "Relief for Japan" campaign. They asked us to try to make it representative of the company (Corporate Executive Board) and we only got one hour but I sketched a little in my free time. Hopefully they inspire the donation of time or money.

65 Days of Christmas
I can't believe I haven't posted any of the holiday stuff I've been working on lately (oh wait, it's because I've been crazy busy working on it, but that's no excuse)! I love it, I love working on improving it, and I REALLY love working in an industry that starts on the holiday print campaign in October. P.S. Sadly these are only the rejected concepts since the approved designs won't be out until Dec. 8th, but I don't love them any less.

Gap Logo Debacle
I don't usually weigh in on these things but since my roommate works at El Gapo (our affectionate nickname courtesy of Jack Mcfarland) and I consider the "new" logo truly terrible, I'm speaking out. I also wanted to see what I could come up with in a fixed amount of time. After all, it's easy to criticize bad design, it's much harder to come up with a better solution. So I gave myself some fake parameters (this has to be a REAL challenge) and came up with these solutions.
Parameters:
1 lunch hour (concepting + computer rendering)
Use Gap blue
San-serif type-faces only (I figure they reserve the serifs for Banana Republic)
And by the way, I already know that doing this in my spare time is crazy and enters me into some new category of design nerd but I simply can't help myself.

My first idea, again, I always have a special place in my heart for the first idea. Isn't the "A" so gappish?!

A literal interpretation of a "gap"

I liked the idea of a literal gap so I tried one with the "A".

Judd Lightyear & Robots
My good friend Judd is an amazing illustrator (SEE), so I challenged him to illustrate an outrageously happy robot for me (I have a small obsession with robots). Of course, he did an awesome job.

Logomania
After working at Bally a little over a year now, I was recently offered a project that departed from my usual page-layout work: design a "fun","energetic","modern" logo for a large variety of health/fitness products. I've always wanted to do more illustrations/logo work, so this was a great little break (and by little break I mean three day/millions of revisions project). Although they didn't pick my favorite one, it was nice giving InDesign a rest and opening up Illustrator.

This is the one they picked, coming to a store near you!

I don't know if I was looking at Gatorade when I made these or what but I still like 'em

My ex co-worker had one look at these and said they reminded him of Nike stuff, I guess my creative mind is inundated with other brands

Poster Maker
Tom's assistant saw the posters I did for Dave and asked me to make him a birthday poster! I love getting paid for this :)

Blue
We are dead at work today so I designed some going away posters for our super health conscience Senior Director of Business Development. It's going to be hard replacing someone as entertaining as Dave.
